Original artwork description
Rather than depicting a literal landscape, I used the fiery colors of dusk and their reflections to express the emotional atmosphere of evening. I wanted color itself to become the language of the painting, leaving space for the viewer’s imagination between abstraction and reality.
I built the composition with bold blocks of impasto paint, using vivid oranges, purples, and turquoise greens to create dramatic contrasts. Visible brush and palette-knife marks preserve the spontaneity and energy of the creative process.
