Echo of the Caucasus is a contemporary figurative painting from the ROOTS series, inspired by Georgian and Caucasian traditional dress and cultural heritage.

A solitary female figure stands frontally in a flowing garment rendered in delicate shades of lavender, grey and white. Her long dark braids and stylized clothing create a monumental silhouette, while the restrained expression gives the figure a quiet, timeless presence.

Rather than reproducing traditional costume literally, the artist reimagines elements of Caucasian dress through a contemporary visual language. The figure becomes a symbol of cultural memory, femininity and the continuity of heritage across generations.

Soft layers of color are contrasted by dark linear accents and expressive vertical marks, creating a balance between delicacy and strength.

Original artwork, 90 × 80 cm.

Materials used:

Acrylic and oil on linen canvas
