Earth and Heritage is a contemporary figurative painting from the ROOTS series, inspired by Georgian and Caucasian cultural heritage and traditional dress.

A solitary female figure stands against a warm, earth-toned background. Her elongated silhouette, long dark braids and stylized garment draw on the distinctive forms of traditional Caucasian clothing, while bold proportions and simplified lines transform these references into a contemporary image.

Rich shades of brown and ochre dominate the composition, interrupted by a deep blue horizontal accent and subtle traces of pink and turquoise. These unexpected details bring a modern energy to the restrained, monumental figure.

The work explores cultural identity, ancestry and the continuity of heritage, presenting tradition not as something belonging only to the past, but as a living presence that can be continually reinterpreted.
