This watercolor painting captures a serene moment along the stone-paved approach to a quiet temple in Japan during early summer.
What inspired me to paint this scene was the breathtaking interplay of light and shadow. I wanted to capture the exact feeling of looking up through the tall, vibrant green trees as the bright sunlight filters through the leaves—a beautiful phenomenon we call "Komorebi" in Japan. I focused on weaving these dancing patterns of light across the stone path stretching into the distance. By keeping my brushstrokes organic and fluid, I sought to convey not just the visual beauty, but the refreshing cool air and spiritual stillness of that forest path.
