I have painted a series of small oil studies on unstretched canvas, and this is one of them. They contain a grain or idea, which can later be scaled up into larger formats. This allows me to examine the concept in more detail, as well as clarify some technical issues.

This one has no margins to stretch on a stretcher.
But it can be mounted on a rigid base and framed.
