Very gentle landscape with pastels.
Winter is always very well depicted in pastels.
The sky is slightly grey; the sun is dim. Trees, buildings are usually shrouded in a light haze.
In this landscape, light white snow, thin ice are on the surface of the pond.
And, beautiful windmills are a very characteristic feature of the landscape of the Netherlands.
For me, winter is not only a time of mild depression but also of mild daydreaming. Although I miss the juicy summer colours, the blue-grey snow shades are also pleasing to the eye.
A small-format pastel painting is just a godsend for interior decor. If you need a small picture for a small space, arrange it in a narrow passe-partout with a baguette and hang it where you need it.
You can also put it on a shelf or a table.
