The skyline of Oxford with its ancient colleges is always a delightful sight. One of the four oldest universities in Europe dating back to the c13 in some cases
Much has happened here over the centuries. The king moved his headquarters here during the Civil War, During the Reformation, and during the Catholic backlash in the reign of Mary Tudor, Bishops Ridley and Latimer were burned at the stake. Later Archbishop Cranmer suffered the same fate. The spot is marked outside Brazennose College as I remember.
