Dream Crossing is an acrylic painting on canvas (on a wooden stretcher) from my Go and Meet the Rain series. It is unframed and is ready to hang.
This series from 2024 is inspired by a moving line in the ancient Book of Changes - the I Ching. This text deals in elemental realities and the aphorism 'go and meet the rain' suggested to me the greening of the desert after rainfall. This directed me to move to that place in myself where my creativity bubbles forth, and in darker, more challenging times I feel a much stronger imperative to do so.
One of the themes of my work is the light shining out of the darkness, and in this painting I took up this theme once again. There is a series of work I've been working on over many years called Night Crossing and Dream Crossing invokes a similar feeling of crossing water by boat at night, when all is quiet, with only the stars above.
