Original artwork description
An abstract landscape painting in a contemporary style.
A long walk on an autumnal, overcast morning was the inspiration for this artwork, which is stripped back to the bare bones of the landscape. The smooth stretch of green in the foreground, is contrasted by the gestural brush strokes of the overcast sky (if the painting is lit from above, these show quite dramatically, and move as you walk past the painting), capturing the tension of the building clouds and portraying the movement of a windy autumnal morning. This quiet painting allows you to breath in the spaciousness of the landscape.
This piece was created using Michael Harding Professional Artists oil colours on a gesso primed, mounted wooden board. The edges are painted white (please see additional photograph), and it is ready to hang. It is signed and dated on the back and comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
