Doppelgänger comes from the German "double" and refers in Germanic and Norse mythology to a person's evil double, a sort of alter ego often full of bad intentions.
I often pictured my anxiety as an evil twin whispering words in my ear. It's also a method in cognitive behavioral therapy to better manage stress and anxiety: imagining them as another person, to gain perspective and distance from negative and automatic thoughts.
To represent myself, I used papers that represent my interests: cats, tea, video games, archaeology, painting, and Studio Ghibli. The Doppelgänger is adorned with a leaflet for Atarax (anti-anxiety), Anxiety, the character from Inside Out 2, and a psychology page on feelings of inferiority.

The canvas is varnished and equipped with a hanging system.
