A landscape scarred or a path to something better?
‘Don to Dee’ depicts a landscape altered by human hands. The road may well be a violation of nature, however the scene clings on to an oddly serene beauty.
The piece not only describes tranquility, but also engages the viewer in a journey. The painting takes us through a world at rest; a world carved from distant memories and a yearning to escape.
