Original artwork description:

Two small paintings that are inspired by the warehousing and dock landscape of Liverpool. Painted mostly form memory and familiarity and without any specific locale in mind they capture the feeling of a now Historic English dock landscape.

These artworks were created as a part of a body of work to find new themes and ideas for further larger paintings. By pursuing random ideas in a small and open ended fashion and pairing or collecting images together a further idea can emerge from the thoughts provoked by similarities. They exist as a form of sketching and painting and show a rougher subtle working out process with less concern for finish. It's thinking by doing. The results yield very framable work so I have taken the initiative to frame them and offer them for sale at very affordable prices.
The frames are solid wood reclaimed from salvaged off cuts from a timber yard in Northern Sweden. Wood that would otherwise be thrown away and destroyed. They are fabricated in my small workshop in Sweden before being brought to England and matched with the supply of small paintings to hand. Traditional gumstrip tape is applied to the backs and small brass eyelets with brass piano wire complete the work for immediate hanging. If requested the paintings can be signed on the front.

Materials used:
