Diptych L ' Averse ( second panel) (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Kseniia Turik

60 x 150 x 3cm (unframed)

£1,560.87

I painted L'Averse during a Paris downpour — that sudden moment when rain falls so heavily the city seems to pause and listen. This is the quieter, more reflective panel of the diptych: where the first one carries weight and texture, this one breathes. Silver and pearl dominate the surface, with warm beige barely visible beneath, and a single vein of cobalt blue cuts across the composition like the last streak of sky before the clouds close in. The edges of the canvas are painted deep blue, so the rain wraps around the sides and the work stays alive when seen from an angle. A small note for viewers — the pearl and silver tones in this painting are notoriously difficult to photograph. The pearlescent surface shifts subtly with the light source, the angle, and the time of day. What reads as soft grey in an image often glows almost luminous in person. The work truly comes alive in natural daylight. Single panel from a diptych. Acrylic on linen canvas, finished with a protective varnish. No resin. Signed on the back.
