During my travels through Namibia before the pandemic, I was captivated by the surreal desert landscapes of Deadvlei. This painting shows a solitary acacia, standing as a quiet guardian in the wide, open space. Reduced forms and warm earth tones highlight resilience and calm. As part of the Desert Series, it transforms the vastness of the desert into an intimate, contemplative work.
