Inspired by all things sea and sky, this expressive blue piece has was created using the cyanotype process. Cyanotype is a unique photographic process that produces blue prints using a two part chemical solution brushed on paper and exposed with light, typically the sun. I used the chemical solution to create gestural brushwork and used extra long exposure in the sun to achieve the various blue tones. The collage paper is comprised of vintage blueprints and nautical sailing charts. This paper ephemera symbolizes the record of personal history as well as past and future voyages.

This piece is signed on the back and ready to hang.
