Someone recently asked me which paintings were my favorites and I showed them four from my catalog (two are portraits of my kids). I think I may have to include this new one in that group. It was such a pleasure to immerse myself in the space of it over the last few days.
I love to tell stories through shadows, which I sometimes imagine as having have a life of their own. The shadows here have captured the tulips that were once fresh in their green fluted vase. I love tulips, but they last for such a short while!
