Conceived as a two-panel work (diptych), this painting explores the silent, intimate energy shared between monumental landforms. Inspired by the poetic image of two ancient cliffs whispering to one another during the full clarity of daylight, the physical division between the two canvases becomes an essential part of the artwork—acting as a narrow canyon pass where light and echoes pass freely.

The composition balances two opposing, towering forms that reach toward each other against a serene, flat background. Applying paint with a heavy impasto technique using a palette knife, I built up rich, sculptural layers of vivid lime green, golden ochre, fiery orange, and cool turquoise accents. This thick, tactile surface mimics the mineral texture of sun-baked rock faces covered in patches of lichen and moss.
