This oil painting is representative of the famous canal du midi in southern France, which was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996, because of its outstanding engineering and artistic design. This painting was started in-situ near Colombiers (Aude) and completed later with the help of sketches and watercolour studies. It features the typical elements of the place: plane trees on the banks, sunlight filtering through the branches, cruising boats, and their reflections in the water. It is ready to hang.
