Original artwork description
My work explores childhood as a site of memory, resilience, and quiet power. In Crowned by Innocence, children appear as symbols of hope and becoming, where innocence is understood not as fragility but as strength. Through bold colour and textured surfaces, I reflect lived experience and emotional depth. The recurring use of monochromatic blue figures speaks to introspection and endurance, while vibrant backgrounds reference the environments and realities that shape identity. The implied crown becomes a metaphor for dignity, self-worth, and the untold stories carried from childhood into adulthood.
The work is my first of the new season (2026).
