This diptych was born from a moment of intensity—where deep, atmospheric tones meet a surge of light and color that expands across the surface.
I worked intuitively, building each canvas through layered acrylic using both brush and palette knife. The composition brings together cool blue and grey tones with rich blush pink, muted plum, soft beige, and earthy ochre. These colors move across the surface in a way that feels both powerful and fluid, creating depth and a sense of unfolding space.
As I developed the two panels, I focused on contrast and continuity—how each piece can exist on its own, yet become stronger when placed together. The darker areas carry weight and structure, while the lighter passages open into a more luminous field, giving the work a dynamic presence.
The textured surface holds visible traces of the process—paint applied, built up, and partially removed—revealing layers beneath. This creates a tactile richness that changes with the light, allowing the artwork to evolve throughout the day.
The palette—blue, grey, blush pink, plum, beige, and ochre—adds both warmth and depth, making this diptych highly versatile for modern, contemporary, or minimalist interiors. It works beautifully above a console, sofa, or bed, bringing a strong yet refined visual statement into the space.
