Cottage in the Fens (2024)Watercolour
by Robert Wells

1 Artist Review

£275

Original artwork description

This painting depicts an old cottage nestled among trees on the edge of the fens. I was drawn to the contrast between the strong geometric shapes of the cottage and the more random, organic forms of the surrounding trees and bushes.
I work boldly in watercolour, and the addition of ink helps reinforce that approach. Using ink with a dip pen or stick allows for natural variation in the line, adding energy and character to the piece.
The artwork comes double mounted and ready for you to fit into your own standard 14 × 18 inch frame.

Materials used:

Watercolour paper, watercolour paint, ink
