Original artwork description
With the return of summer, my thoughts drift to the crystal waters of the Côte D’Azur; the rich sapphire blue zig-zagging with turquoise as the light veins through it. There is something primordial about bringing the outside into our inner sanctum and I love to use images of water to introduce a sense of calm into an interior. The South of France is one of my favourite places in the world, which is why it is referenced in many of the titles of my work.
I have built the work with glazes to allow the transparency to the layers below. Charcoal pigment has been used for form. Large, oversize pieces are my preferred medium; the size and colour make this work a high impact, statement piece.
Please note that shipping is free but may be rolled and taken off the mount if shipping beyond Europe (special arrangement may be made but this incurs an extra cost).
