Cornwall, Cove at Tintagel - Sea (2022) Original Pastel Drawing by Zoe Elizabeth Norman
30 x 40 x 0.2cm (unframed) / 30 x 40cm (actual image size)
£350
Original artwork description
Contemporary impressionism.
A breathtaking stretch of the Cornish coast captured with bold, energetic pastel work. This painting was begun on location at Tintagel, where the artist walked beyond the ruined castle — legendary home of King Arthur — and sat down to capture this magnificent hidden cove. The dazzling turquoise and cobalt of the Atlantic crashes white against ancient rocks of purple, grey and rust, while vivid green clifftops roll against a wide, cloud-streaked sky. Wild grasses and boulders frame the foreground, drawing the eye down into the sheltered bay below. Later completed in the studio, the painting retains all the freshness and immediacy of that moment on the cliff edge — the wind, the light, the raw drama of one of Cornwall's most legendary coastlines.
Signed on the front and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
