A rare weekend away in Zennor, Cornwall was the inspiration for this painting. We spent a lot of time sitting on the rocks looking out to sea. Wonderful to watch the light change and use my sketchbook to make notes and sketch. I've worked on this painting over a number of days with big expressive layers and mark making to create this expressive painting. This is an oil on canvas and is ready to hang and has edges painted Payne’s grey.
