Original artwork description:
Painted on-site in the artist's garden in Minneapolis, MN. Features a peony flower of the variety named "Cora Louise". The flower displays petals in shades of red and magenta with pink highlights, burgundy shadows, a golden yellow center, and red and green leaves. The variegated blue and green background was created with splattering of water-based casein paint, with additional glazing and texture in oil. The flower is painted with both brush and palette knife, and the shapes of the petals are enhanced by the shaping of the oil paint with palette knife. Framed in a 3" wide wood frame with a mahogany colored finish. May be purchased unframed by request.
