Conversation with lilies (2025)Oil painting
by Yuliia Poraiko
£1,636.12
Original artwork description
Lilies symbolize faith, strength, and deep love — a love as profound and enduring as the scent of lilies themselves.
The nude figure serves as a metaphor for inner nakedness — the unveiling of the soul, sensitivity, and authentic selfhood.
The woman’s gaze toward the lilies and her posture radiate love, attentiveness, respect, and understanding without words. It is an intuitive trust and an invisible kinship that exists between them.
The faded fluid-art texture within the lily leaves and in certain areas of the woman’s body becomes a sign of memory — one that seems to fade with time, yet leaves behind deep traces that remain forever, because this is where they belong.
The red thread is a metaphor for love that originates from the lilies and is passed on to the woman, piercing her heart and soul, and continuing onward into future generations.
The painting belongs to the Voices of Generations series. The work was created as part of an artist residency and was exhibited at Rochester Contemporary Art Center
