#ConTatto_3 (2023) Original Oil Painting by Alessandra Pagliuca

This work was a "small" challenge, in the true sense of the word. The painting is in fact very small, measuring just 16 cm per side.
I worked with small brushes and had to leave out many details, but my goal was precisely to recreate the intimacy of a hug.

An ambitious project that the artist has carried in her heart for years, after a long personal search that led her to understand her priorities and her means of expression: the human figure.
In fact, in Alessandra's works, beloved subjects, hands of loved ones, faces and expressions that have left their mark on her path recur.
But what interests her most is precisely TOUCH, both as a single word and as separate words, always part of the same universe.
This collection aims precisely at a search for intimacy, for "fingers that sink" into the flesh, for a contact between people that has been lost, between lovers, brothers, sisters, friends and memories.
Contact means letting yourself be enveloped, embraced, held, transported.
