While working on Confluence, I found myself reflecting on how certain experiences remain separate in memory, yet continue to shape one another over time. Even moments that feel distant often belong to the same emotional landscape.
The painting evolved in a similar way. Each section developed independently, almost like separate conversations across the surface, before gradually connecting through color, movement, and the horizontal flow that binds the composition together.
The possibility of the work existing either slightly apart or fully joined became central to its meaning. It mirrors the way relationships, memories, and phases of life can feel separate, yet remain deeply connected beneath the surface.
For me, Confluence is about the invisible connections between fragments, between structure and freedom, stillness and movement, separation and unity. Within Syntax, it reflects the idea that balance can exist through coexistence rather than complete unity.
