Coming in To Land (2025) Original Acrylic Painting by Diannah Lowry

68 x 68 x 3cm (framed)

£750

As an Australian I spent much of my adult life flying around the globe to satisfy my need for travel desire to see the world. I love the feeling of take off and the excitement it brings in anticipation of an adventure ahead, and I equally love the excitement of the descent of the aircraft as it brings me to my destination. This painting is an exploration of that wondrous feeling when looking out of a plane on descent, and seeing the emerging multi-coloured and textured land through the clouds as the descent occurs. I now live in Devon in the UK, and so my view of the land through the clouds on descent is a patchwork of fields and hedges, in a variety of different colours according to the various cycles of each field.
I've selected a blue/green palette for this work to reflect both the sky and the emerging view of the fields below.
The painting comes in a white tray frame which brings out the colours of the work, and provides a neutral backdrop for any coloured wall.
