The Columbia River carves its way through many states creating and creates a magnificent water highway. Here it separates Washington from Oregon state as seen from the Oregon shore looking at the Washington basalt cliffs. I painted this on location capturing the beauty of the tree lined river edge on one side of the river and the majestic cliffs on the other.
