There's a sense of wonder, a mixture of amazement and enchantment, in gazing at Milena Nicosia's works.
The sensation of soft hypnosis spreads to the gaze, starting from infinite depths at the bottom
of the canvases, and from layer to layer, through transparencies and then the opaque filter of
a pose, it reverberates even to the thin air between the painting and the eye. Nicosia works on a vertigo,
on the allure of shadows and incident light, allowing reality to imprint its traces of dust and
earth, constructing images and suggestions with the light thickness of memories, with the tenuous and resistant
thickness of emotions. The geometric shapes enhance and exalt the softness of the embroidery and the movement in the void. Pure pigments were used in powder form on canvas, protected with a treatment that will make them shine infinitely. The frame is one with the painting.
