In this painting, I was drawn to the ever-changing reflections on the water. The warm glow of the setting sun stretches and distorts across the surface, merging with the architecture into a rhythm that feels both real and abstract.
I intentionally softened the structural details of the buildings, focusing instead on the movement of water, allowing light to dominate the composition. The flying seagulls introduce a sense of motion and breath, bringing life into the scene.
Technically, I used quick, directional brushstrokes to capture the fluidity of water, combined with thicker paint and contrasting highlights to make the luminous areas vibrate, balancing movement and stillness.
