I love painting water and its rippling, reflective surfaces. My aquatic scenes come in many shades of blue and beyond. While taking a stroll along the pier one sunny morning, I was fascinated with the colorful reflections of boats in the marina. I painted this piece with expressive loose brush strokes ranging in hue from teal to purple, making water seem to eddy, shimmy, and shimmer with life.

Materials: oil on oil-primed Claessens Belgian linen on 1/8 MDF archival art panel, the back of the panel finished with melamine that prevents warping and deterioration. Painting surface is protected with a coat of Gamvar varnish. The painting is unframed. It will easily slot into a standard 11”x14” picture frame. No glass needed for framing oil paintings.
