Original artwork description
Description:
This painting belongs to my series "Pathos of the Bureaucracy" – a satirical reflection on how absurd and exhausting bureaucracy can be. We all know the feeling of running endlessly from one office to another, collecting permissions and signatures, only to realize that precious moments of life have already slipped away.
In this humorous allegory, the crayfish is depicted writing a collective letter to the slug. Around him, the butterfly, worm, phone, roses, spider, and bee form the “committee.” But why did they choose the slug as their leader? And will he ever be able to fulfill their request? The scene raises a playful yet serious question about power, responsibility, and the strange logic of bureaucratic systems.
The painting is full of symbolic characters, each representing different sides of collective action, blind trust, and the irony of misplaced authority. The painting is balanced humor and critique, making the viewer smile and reflect at the same time.
