This work is based on the story of a little girl in the hot, smoggy coal mines of Anatolia. Coming with her family to work, this child, amidst the scorching sun and coal dust, helping her family and clinging to her toy, clinging to the very possibility of remaining a child.
Her gaze holds both the weight of life and the innocent light of childhood.
In this portrait, I wanted to portray that moment, that balance:
Her resilience filtering through fatigue,
And her pure eyes shining from the dark background.
This work is not just a portrait; it is a silent testimony to the unseen faces of Anatolia, to the stories where labor and childhood are intertwined.
