Original artwork description
This painting is part of my ongoing series “Inside the Clown”. The
series explores the masks we wear in everyday life — the roles we
perform to stay strong, funny, calm, or socially acceptable.
The clown becomes a metaphor for emotional armor. The bright cheeks,
simplified face, and theatrical expression hint at humor and
playfulness, but underneath there is something quieter: vulnerability,
introspection, and the human need to hide and reveal ourselves at the
same time.
In this series I combine minimalist composition, bold black contours,
and muted contemporary colors. The figures feel almost graphic, but the
visible acrylic texture keeps them alive and imperfect.
Each painting in the series captures a different quiet moment behind the
mask.
