“Cloudscape XII” is 8” x 8” (approximately 20 x 20 cm) oil painting on stretched canvas. It is part of my cloudscape series which focus on the beauty of the sky at different times of the day and various lighting.
In this painting, I attempted to capture the soft early morning light. The transition between each colours is done in a subtle manner, yet I still manage to paint this with loose, bold brushstrokes and impasto textures created by palette knives, which is my preferred way of painting.
