Infrared photography allows us to see the world illuminated by light invisible to the human eye. It reflects off foliage, creating a soft, otherworldly glow, and it is absorbed by water and sky, resulting in high-contrast images with an ephemeral, dream-like quality.
The light was so beautiful on Great Island in Wellfleet, MA on Cape Cod. My photo of dunes beneath a cloud is unique in blush pink and light blue. I photographed this scene using a 720nm infrared filter on a full-spectrum-converted camera.
