Original title: June 9, cloud above the mountains, sunset
Landscape of Auvergne, France.
From the windows of my studio.
"The sun has set tonight in the clouds;
Tomorrow will come the storm, and the evening, and the night;
Then dawn, and its glimmers of obstructed vapors;
Then the nights, then the days, steps of fleeting time!"

This landscape is painted “alla prima” in one single sitting, with lively and spontaneous brushstrokes to attempt to capture the momentary effects of sunlight , the movement and the atmosphere.
The white finish on the sides of the canvas allows, if you wish, a frameless suspension.
