This is an original landscape painting of the china clay pits near St Austell, Cornwall. I wanted to explore how the china clay extraction has changed the landscape, how the brightness of the white rock and vibrant turquoise pools creates a surreal contrast with the surroundings.
It is painted on deep profile stretched canvas. The sides of the canvas are painted grey to match the painting. It will be varnished and ready to hang.
