Original artwork description
A light-filled and tranquil work, “Chrysocolla Lake” is crafted using a mix of cool greens and blues with a dash of golden yellow.
One of several canvasses painted over the summer this work is named after the gem stone “Chrysocolla” which is a copper based mineral which often contains shades of blue and green. On a metaphysical level it is believed to have many properties including emotional healing , promoting communication and inducing tranquility.
“THE WORLD BEYOND” SERIES STATEMENT
These works are from an ongoing series of works titled "The World Beyond" Using the landscape as a metaphor, these works take the viewer on a journey through swirling mists, organic forms and iridescent skies. Using a mixture of brushes and palette knives, these oil paintings capture light and movement, while maintaining a dynamic and dramatic atmosphere. They are meditations created to evoke a connectedness to the ethereal and transitory existence of the human experience within nature, through an otherworldly realm of shifting reality.
