Original artwork description
‘CHESTER ROAD GARDENS’ is an acrylic painting 28x20 cms on 300gms canvas paper. It is presented in a white card mount 35x28cms. It is part of a series of works which focus on ‘garden’ environments. It is a painting that evokes a spatially ambiguous garden environment of a familiar location. The colours of flowering blossoms set within a congested almost natural situation are represented through a plethora of abstracted and expressive marks. The descriptive elements of plant life can still be discerned. A defining feature in the ‘garden’ works lies within the familiarity of the location and the changes brought about by those who might occupy the space and the effect of changing light and shadow in different weather conditions. The painting can be bought in a white glazed frame if preferred with additional shipping costs.
