Bowls - a familiar, unassuming object - part of our daily life.
I’ve made a series of paintings using them as my main subject and I still haven't finished...

Rendered in a simplified, almost minimalist manner, the painting isolates the bowls from any contextual background, allowing its form to rest directly on the raw, textured surface of rough watercolour paper. The absence of setting or shadow gives space for silence and stillness, inviting a meditative attention to the object itself.

On the grey/violet bowls I used a mineral pigment that shimmers faintly as the light shifts.
