The frantic turnaround and speed of a Formula One pitstop never fails to amaze the millions of viewers around the world. The speed and precision of the mechanics as they work on the tires cannot be underestimated, with most pitstops only taking around two seconds to complete.
This piece tries to depict this incredible speed, with all mechanics around the car blurring into one mass of Ferrari red. This was a particularly tense pitstop as they tried to get Charles Leclerc away as quick as possible, as he fought Lewis Hamilton for victory at Silverstone. The visible brush strokes give this picture a slightly impressionistic feel compared to some of my other work.
