Original artwork description:

Cessair is a compelling mixed-media portrait that fuses subtle tones, layered textiles, and symbolic abstraction.

I created it by building up layers of board, hessian fabric and paint. Each layer is individual, but also combines with the other layers to create a harmonious whole. One of the layers extends, at a contrasting angle, beyond the frame, to create a striking visual effect.

According to legend, Cessair was the leader of the first inhabitants of Ireland.

It is sold framed in a deep profile black wood frame.

Materials used:

acrylic, hessian, wood panel
