Original artwork description:

Catchment Green
Original Oil Painting on canvas, ready to hang.
This thickly textured rich impasto oil painting is on stretched, primed and gessoed cotton duck canvas.
After a long period of curing, the painting is then treated with layers of varnish to protect and enhance the colours and surface.
The layered paintings in this series show marks and imagery layered upon each other over a long period of time, in the same way that happens to the land and subsequent structures upon it.
Buildings emerge sometimes indistinctly, sometimes with force and clarity from the land around them.
Juxtaposition is a constant theme also in the paintings, the way that a structure opposes or harmonises with its surrounding, the way that old and modern architecture can co-exist. The paintings methods reflect this in the way that styles and types of brush strokes are juxtaposed, and through the use of colour; where an unusual or startling colour choice might be made.
Landscape and architecture forming a layered palimpsest.
The painting is made using artists oil pigments.
The painting comes on a wooden stretcher with gallery wrapped canvas and could be hung directly on the wall or framed if preferred.
Hanging Fixtures will be attached to the rear of the painting making it completely ready to hang or to give as a gift.
About the artist

My work has been selected for the Royal Institute of Painters in watercolour exhibition, Mall Galleries, London, (2024, 2023), ING Discerning Eye exhibition, London (2022) Sunday Times Watercolour competition London and Southampton (2020)
I hold a Master of Art (Fine Art) and BA Honours Degree in Fine Art.
My painting is bound up with examination of the land, and in particular, the ephemeral, those forces and presences that cannot be seen but which change and shape the land.
I have been painting every day for many years, since graduating with an MA in Painting. Over 500 paintings have been sold to collectors across the globe, from USA to Canada, Australia, Britain, Singapore, Germany, and all of Europe.

Paintings will be sent to you unframed, (unless otherwise stated in the description) and protected with cellophane or paper, in a re-enforced padded envelope or recycled box, on a Tracked Delivery service with the Royal Mail or Parcel Force International for large items.

Materials used:

Oil Paint, gesso, varnish
