Inspired by the latin phrase Carpe Diem or enjoy the moment!
This oil painting is from a current group of works called 'Summer Series', inspired by my archive of family photographs.
For this captured moment of fun, I wanted to use the pastel colours of seaside nostalgia and a hazy warm atmosphere to give the painting a dream like quality.
Through layers and expressive brushwork the painting reflects sunny childhood summers through memory and reflection.
