Original artwork description
If one thing defines Carmel-by-the-Sea, it is the charming courtyards and secret passageways. Downtown is peppered with 41 passageways and courtyards, each one different, and many are lined with unique shops, galleries, and restaurants waiting to be discovered.
El Paseo is the passageway with the entrance to a beautiful courtyard built in the Spanish Colonial Revival style on Dolores Street between Ocean Avenue and 7th., between two restaurants - Little Napoli and Vino Napoli.
I love the the ornate wrought iron railing and patterned tile risers on this staircase.
Materials used in creating this artwork: Oil on oil-primed Claessens Belgian linen on 1/8 MDF archival art panel, the back of the panel finished with melamine that prevents warping and deterioration. Painting surface is protected with a coat of Gamvar varnish. The painting is unframed and will require a frame to hang on the wall. It will easily slot into a standard 11"x14" picture frame. Oil paintings are traditionally framed without glass.
Materials used:
oil paint, linen canvas, masonite panel, Gamvar varnish
Details:
- Oil painting on Canvas
- One of a kind artwork
- Size: 27.94 x 35.56 x 0.51cm (unframed) / 27.94 x 35.56cm (actual image size)
