This series of ballerina ink drawings marks a previous chapter in my painting journey, where I explored the poetry of movement and the quiet intensity of dance. Working primarily in ink and wash, I sought to distill the essence of the dancer’s form, capturing not just the body in motion, but the emotion and vulnerability that exist behind each pose.
Each piece is created with swift, gestural lines and subtle washes, allowing the figure to emerge from abstraction. Touches of gold ink add a sense of light and fleeting magic, echoing the ephemeral beauty of performance. Through this series, I aimed to honor the discipline, grace, and inner world of the dancer, inviting viewers to pause and reflect on the moments that exist between movement and stillness.
Painted on 300gsm-140lb acid free, Canson Moulin du Roy , hot pressed watercolor paper, 100% hand painted.
Size: 9.06''x12.2'' in ------23x31cm
