Le Grand Tétras ou Coq de Bruyère (Capercaillie) of the Pyrenées.
This is the fifth in my series of paintings depicting the wildlife in the Pyrenées mountains here in France.
This painting took quite some time to plan and compose with many phographic trips in to the high mountains. A photographer friend supplied the Capercaillie photos that I used as reference to paint and which I composed in to this scene.
